The unique red panda

"Red panda is the only species of its kind in the world. It is unique in its behavior and specialized in its habitat requirements, as well as the fact that they have no close living relatives. They are a living relict of times past. "

Red panda is really a unique creature. I haven’t seen, even heard this kind of creature since I was born.

We can guess that red panda is a kind of animal which has a red fur through its name but you may not know that red panda has a buff white fur when it was born. It takes about 2 months for babies to achieve adult coloration. During the month of July, they quickly started to grow red, dark reddish brown and black fur. They started to look like miniature adults.

Compare to a Giant Panda, a baby red panda is bigger than a baby giant panda. When a baby red panda was born, it will close its eyes tightly, like a lucifugous vampire. It will huddle itself. At that moment, it looks like a baby monkey.

I should thanks the earth, "produced" such a cute creature. I should also try my best to prevent this extinct creature to be killed.

Why we have to save red panda?

Saving red pandas are important because they are an ambassador for clean air and water for approximately 1 billion people on our planet.

The forests where red pandas live are the lungs of South Asia and if these forests are intact and function properly, just like a humans lungs, then we can ensure a healthy life for the people, animals and plants of South Asia. However, the exact population status of this elusive and endangered animal is currently unknown. By not knowing the status of this population we are unsure of the future of one of the most important ecological regions of our planet.

Let’s imagine that if this kind of animals is extinct, what will happen in the world. Can we continue living in the clean environment? Will human be extinct, too?

If the red pandas are extinct, the forests where red pandas live may be polluted and the forests may become one of the sources of air pollution. Then, people who live in South Asia may be impacted. They may suffer from the diseases which are cause by air pollution.

This is a very essential problem. This problem concerns all of people who live in South Asia, even the entire human. Thus, we have to pay our full attention to solve this problem by behaving ourselves.

Red Panda

The Red Panda, or "firefox," is often referred to as the "lesser panda" in deference to the better-known giant panda. Few people outside its native habitat have even heard of the red panda, let alone seen one.

Red panda are founding the mountain chains of the Eastern Himalaya and parts of southwestern China.

I have not known this kind of animals until searching about animals’ conservation. When I saw this animal’s photos, I felt amazing. It is so cute that I want to keep it as my pet but I know it is impossible.

Red panda does not look like the giant panda. It mostly likes a small bear. It has red fur cover around its body expect its eyes, ears and nose. Its eyes, ears and nose are covered by white fur. It is really a unique animal.

After knowing this animal, I realized that actually there are many unique animals that I have not seen since I was born. They may be very cute creatures or ugly creatures. However, it doesn’t matter because I have already decided to try my best to protect the entire animals in the world. I also appeal the people around the world that do not kill the unique animal anymore, otherwise our descendants will miss a lot of chances to visit their friends ----- animals.

Childhood memories

I have almost forgotten how my childhood was but there is an only thing that I won’t forget. That is starting to live in a boarding school in Guangzhou which was far away home. Because of the situation, I could only have a seven-day holiday after a one-month studying.

I was 7 years old then. My “heartless” father “ignored his relatives advice and abandoned” me in a boarding school. The school called Nanyang International School. I still remember the watchword of the school is ‘Nanyang International School is the first bilingual school in China.’

I was unhappy when I studied and lived in the school at the first month. I hated my father because he sent me to school without any unwillingness. However, after a few months, I had already fitted into the school life. I have no longer been lonely because I have already gone on well with my classmates.

When I went to secondary school in China, I understood that my dad had to send me to the boarding school in order to train me as an independent person. I am really grateful to his decision.

Thank you dad.

Travel overseas

In my memories, I have only gone overseas two times. The first destination is Japan. The second one is Singapore.

The most memorable journey is going to Japan. Although I am a Chinese, I am a fan of Japanese culture. I like Japanese language. I like Japanese cartoon. I like Japanese movie. I like Japanese series. I like all the things that are produced in Japan.

I went to Japan during my secondary school summer holiday with my parents. Japan is really a wonderful place. There is very clean and the people there are nice. There remain a lot of Japanese cultural products such as tatami. Tatami is a mat made of a kind of special and excellent straw. Japanese food is also good. The most famous food is sushi. Sushi is a Japanese traditional food. Although they are made of raw seafood, vinegar and rice, they are clean and healthy. There are a lot of natural and wonderful sights such as Mount Fuji. Fuji mount is a dormant volcano. It is a sign of Japan.

After the journey, I always plan that when I can travel around Japan.

(Please don't think I am a traitor after reading this journal.)

Cross Country/Total Defence Day

Feb 13th, my school held an activity which called Cross Country. That meant all of the chongboonise had to jog over one kilometre. For girls, we had to jog 2.8 kilometres. This year, the stage was in Nan Yang Polytechnic.

Nan Yang Polytechnic gave me three different kinds of impressions. Firstly, it likes a hot spring in China because there is a fountain. In China, there is a fountain in the entrance of the hot spring. Secondly, it likes a university because it is very spacious. Thirdly, it likes a MRT station because there are marble staircases.

In China, the longest distance that I run is only 1.2 kilometres so to jog 2.8 kilometers is tough for me.

Cross Country began. I started to run and run and run without stopping. When I finished 800 metres, I felt very tired and I had to gasp for breath. The worst thing is my feet are out of control. They liked two fireballs which are extremely hot. Although, I was eager to finish 2.8 kilometres by jogging, I gave up at last. A long time later, I reached the terminal.

I felt tired that day but it was interesting to jog 2.8 kilometres.
